**About Us**
Air Excellence is a locally owned HVAC company serving Saskatoon and the surrounding area. We provide expert commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, and gas fitting services, delivered by a team of experienced technicians committed to quality and safety.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help strengthen relationships with our commercial clients, support sales of service and maintenance offerings, and provide valuable insights from the field.
This role is ideal for a seasoned HVAC or plumbing professional—possibly someone nearing retirement or looking to get off the tools—who wants to stay in the industry, contribute their expertise, and help shape the future of our service division.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial and industrial clients.
- Identify new business opportunities and service contracts through networking, site visits, and referrals.
- Represent Air Excellence in meetings with potential clients, contractors, and property managers.
- Leverage your trade experience to assess client needs, recommend solutions, and support quoting processes.
- Collaborate with the internal team to scope and deliver tailored service and maintenance proposals.
- Act as a liaison between clients and technicians to ensure high-quality service and communication.
- Stay informed about market trends and competitor activity to help shape service offerings.
- Support junior technicians with technical insight and help foster trust with clients.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Red Seal journeyperson certification in plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in the trades, especially in service and maintenance roles.
- Strong understanding of commercial and/or industrial mechanical systems.
- Natural relationship builder with a professional, client-first mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable conducting site visits, identifying opportunities, and helping build proposals.
- Basic computer skills, with the ability to learn CRM or service management tools (Jobber).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for client meetings and site visits.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Previous experience in quoting, estimating, or business development.
- Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing service agreements and contract structures.
- Experience dealing with property managers, facility managers, and contractors.
- Existing network within Saskatoon’s construction, commercial, or property management sectors.
- Experience mentoring apprentices or junior tradespeople is an asset.
**Compensation & Commission**
- Base Salary: Starting at $70,000 annually (based on experience)
- Commission:
- 5% of new client revenue (paid over the first year of acquisition)
- Performance Bonuses:
- $2,000 bonus for every $50,000 of new business generated

- 1-2% commission on active upsell or negotiated renewals
- Full commission (5%) applies to reinstated agreements lapsed over 1 year
- Recurring contracts may have commission paid in stages depending on payment terms
Total compensation is uncapped and reflects your ability to build and maintain client relationships — ideal for someone who knows the trade and wants to grow with us.
