The Logistics Specialist role offers the opportunity to learn the transportation and logistics industry in a progressive environment over 3 months. During that time, you will develop the skills necessary to be successful in brokerage sales. Transportation terminology, process and procedures, effective communication, relationship building, creative solution design, sales, and negotiating are many of the core concepts taught and used with this role.
Upon completion of training, you will transition into an individual contributor role as part of our sales team. Our individual contributors can earn uncapped commissions. The more successful you are the larger the commission each month.
- Largely sales focused, requiring high volume outbound calls daily while prospecting and contacting potential new customers/shippers.
- Business development through effective communication with leads and clients to discover vulnerabilities within their transportation network.
- Responsible for proposing and implement solutions, closing new business, and grow existing business with established clients.
**Additional Job Description**
As a Commercial Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for selling transportation services to prospective customers. Working individually but within a team you will be reaching out to both customers and potential customers and growing your own business portfolio. You will be responsible for maintaining communication and providing the best service for each of your customers. With this, each person will have exposure and ultimately control of their own marketing, sales strategy, and pricing for each customer.

- Sell and negotiate Werner Brokerage services, securing business to meet individual, team, and Company revenue / margin goals
- Prospect and cultivate new sales leads to establish business relationships.
- Provide quotes for current and prospective customers utilizing analytical and logistic planning
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of transportation industry.
