**Role Summary**:
This role will be overseeing our workers’ compensation administration, and as such should have extensive knowledge of procedures and policies required by legislation and workers compensation boards. You will be working alongside our HR and Health and Safety team, as well as helping and educating our Leaders with the workers compensation process.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:(Duties within the role that they will be evaluated on)
- First point of contact for company-wide workers compensation inquiries.
- Meeting with company stakeholders to review internal workplace injury issues.
- Managing workplace injury claims, minimizing time loss and claim costs through early intervention and a proactive approach.
- Gather documentation, information, and process injury claims within the required deadlines according to standard procedures. Respond within 24 hours of incident reporting, this includes but not limited to ensuring that a safe & suitable offer of modified work is made to the injured worker without incurring lost time, and that relevant documents such as employee statement are requested.
- Support key stakeholders involved in the early and safe return process and mitigate lost time in accordance with worker compensation requirements.
- Identify, support, and lead the organization with claim disputes and appeals.
- Leads and/or participates in special projects supporting company stakeholders and organizational health and safety programs.
- Facilitate 3rd party interventions (i.e., functional capacity evaluation and independent medical evaluations).
- Provide stakeholders with on-site assistance by attending mediations, ergonomic assessments, field investigations and provision of workers’ compensation training.
- Track and prepare data as required by Management.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with all company stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing support and communication with stakeholders.
- Interpret provincial workers’ compensation legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Additional duties as required in assisting with short-term disability, long-term disability, and Ergonomic support.

**Key Qualification/Requirements**:

- Degree in Human Resources, Health and Safety or related fields (Experience in Kinesiology or Ergonomics preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in a workers’ compensation capacity, with corresponding knowledge of workers’ compensation policies and procedures and workplace health and safety.
- A high level of computer proficiency, especially with collection of information, data, and reporting. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A high level of oral and written communication skills, problem solving and critical thinking.
