**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Reporting directly to the Manager of Live-in Treatment, the Live-in Treatment Program Coordinator will provide oversight to ensure that the developmental needs of children in their care are met through actively participating in co-developing and implementing assessments and treatment plans. In this role, you will work closely with children, youth, their families/caregivers and treatment team to maintain a therapeutic environment that addresses the social and emotional needs of children and youth in a home milieu setting. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for providing oversight of the day-to-day function of the live-in treatment program and will navigate and support Child and Youth Workers in implementing treatment strategies, including ensuring all related and mandatory documentation is completed in accordance with licensing requirements and internal policies and procedures.

**Salary Range**: $66,331 to $70,372

**Location**: Aurora Facility, this position will require travel within York Region.

**Hours of Work**: Forty (40) hours per week, including evening and weekend shifts.

**A LOOK AT YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Actively develop positive rapport with clients in the program to create psychological safety and trust through relationship-building activities and observation of the client’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Ensure client safety by following prescribed training and internal policies and procedures.
- Participate in the screening, assessment and orientation of clients entering the live-in treatment program.
- Provide direct support and guidance to Child and Youth Workers related to behaviour management and treatment implementation.
- Engage with family/caregivers to provide support and solution-based problem solving in areas of need, including assessing on-going treatment and familial needs.
- Advocate for children, youth and family/caregivers regarding safety and psychological and physiological needs.
- Support in the maintenance of the home milieu setting, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of the living space, specifically client rooms, bathrooms, grounds and common spaces.
- Ensure client safety utilizing observation techniques, client engagement and assessment tools.
- Support client well-being by ensuring routine medical care (e.g., medical, dental, optometry) is received, including arranging transportation to healthcare providers.
- Foster a positive relationship with service providers to ensure client transportation needs are secure, including resolving concerns with the service provider.
- Schedule, co-facilitate, and attend client meetings as prescribed by Ministry licensing standards.
- Provide oversight on Ministry licensing standards pertaining to daily operations, documentation and medical administration for each client.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication pertaining to client treatment plan development, progress and integration.
- Facilitate therapeutic and treatment group meetings, including regular house meetings to obtain client feedback and to address concerns following agency-approved models.
- Coordinate and supervise college and university student placements within the Live-in Treatment Program.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act to ensure every reasonable precaution is taken to comply with Acts and regulations for the health and safety protection of employees, associates, students and volunteers.
- Attend and participate in required trainings and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:

- Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work and/or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a residential setting for children and youth.
- Knowledge of children and youth mental health legislation and regulations.
- Competent in trauma-informed practice, child development, and child and youth care relational practice.
- Competence in modelling professionalism and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Experience utilizing a variety of interventions and skilled in milieu counseling, assessment and group work.
- Ability to demonstrate sound decision-making in an intensive environment.
