Sales Manager

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assist the Regional Manager in the determination of profit and loss relating to the sales activities of the Region; manage margin levels for maximum profitability and control costs and expenses; reports financial data as required/requested
- participate in the creation of the annual sales budget for the Region; forecasts sales, estimate market share, highlight opportunities for market growth and product diversification; document year over year sales
- Gather, analyze and report on information concerning general price levels, new product introductions and competitive activity in the market; monitors selling expenses, new promotional program investments and the Company’s service levels in the Region
- Assist in determining sales goals and initiatives for Region;, perform territorial analysis and plan to maximize the number of effective sales calls, coordinate product marketing efforts with marketing manager
- Assist in preparation of sales plans for Branch Managers and Sales Representatives; focus on existing and new growth, business planning and employee development; review action plans and assess progress; coach and mentors as required/requested.
- Make regular sales calls with Branch Managers and Sales Representatives, coach and monitor effective sales techniques, make sales calls on an individual basis to select accounts; investigate, communicate and resolve issues and conflicts relating to sales activities
- Organize and lead monthly sales and territory review meetings, monitor and document job quote success rates, generate reports as required/requested.
- Participate in the Company Health and Safety Program; to be knowledgeable in Health and Safety legislation; to undertake and promote training as required/requested; ensure adherence to all Company Health and Safety Guidelines and Company compliance within legislated Health and Safety requirements
- Ensure sales succession planning opportunities are charted and promoted within Region; provides input to annual training budget for sales employees growth; works to develop and strengthen a culture of sales throughout Region
- Organize and assist with exhibitions, trade shows and/or special functions, negotiate with vendors for show specials, arrange for staffing
- Provide input regarding sales employee job performance, issue disciplines and generate administrative documentation as required/requested
- Remain current with product, markets and industry
- Attend management meetings as required/requested
- Prepare and generate reports as required/requested
- Other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in in a managerial capacity with progressive experience preferably in fire protection and/or plumbing and heating and industrial
- Proven business development skills
- College Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration or a related discipline
- Excellent French and English verbal and written communication and interpersonal and negotiations/problem solving skills
- High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
- Well organized, ability to multi-task
- Leadership capabilities and ability to listen and to motivate
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Ability to grasp and communicate the technical aspects of the company’s products
- Good mathematical skills
- Self-starter, well organized with ability to multi-task and execute a plan of action
- Must be able to self-manage and prioritize goals with mínimal supervision
- Available to travel, some overnight travel as required/requested
