Resource Coordinator Position

The Resource Coordinator provides oversight to the continuum of care placement services for Sagkeeng Child & Family Services. This continuum of care is provided by third party funded and licensed community based organizations. Placement types range from short to long term and include group care, emergency shelters, foster care, crisis stabilization and treatment centres. The responsible for the Resource Coordinator is ensuring service delivery strategically evolves by updating standards of practices based on program, service needs or legislative changes.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for collaboration with Authorities, third party operators, relative to legislative frameworks that support a continuum of placement options and tools.
- Responsible for complex problem solving related to child in care placement programs
- Must possess extensive knowledge of the child welfare system and specifically placement options that support the needs of children, including successful transitions out of care.
- Responsible for identifying and analysing trends in placement resources and proactively making recommendations
- This can include making and leading legislative, regulatory or policy changes that relate to a broader continuum that supports changes to placement options, as well as broader systemic needs that guide practice models for alternative care providers.
- Develop, supports and assesses program reporting as required, including the oversight of grant funding and schedule development; and acts as a Placement Resources Unit liaison to the Agency Alternative Care Unit.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences (preferably a Bachelor's or Master’s in Social Work) with child welfare experience. Equivalent combination of education, training and related experience may be considered
- Experience working in program areas that provide alternate placement care, including group care, foster care, customary care, guardianship supports, or comparable work experience with adults requiring alternate care is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a high degree of professionalism, political acumen, and the ability to establish effective relationships with various stakeholder.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to listen with understanding and sensitivity, to articulate messages in a clear and consist manner
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to write clearly and persuasively
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $89,629.00-$111,776.00 per year
