As a **Payroll Specialist** at Forvis Mazars, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a diverse client base. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll data, processing new hires and terminations, managing employee leaves and deductions, and handling year-end reporting. Your ability to deliver quality service while maintaining strict compliance will make a difference for our clients and our team.

**️ Your Responsibilities**:

- Process payroll for clients with varying levels of complexity, in accordance with agreed deadlines
- Track payroll schedules and frequencies for each client
- Update payroll systems with changes such as new hires, salary adjustments, and benefits enrollment
- Respond to client inquiries with professionalism and care
- Manage time-off banks (vacation, personal, sick days) and legal garnishments
- Produce Records of Employment (ROEs) and payroll reports
- Handle year-end processing including T4/RL-1 slips and summary reports
- Support the continuous improvement of tools and processes and perform related tasks as needed

**Your Profile**:

- DEC in accounting or equivalent diploma
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role
- Currently pursuing or planning to obtain the **National Payroll Institute (NPI)** certification
- Solid knowledge of payroll systems such as **Desjardins**, **Nethris** or similar
- Strong command of **Microsoft Office 365** (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Understanding of payroll compliance rules (asset)
- Able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Discreet, professional, and client-oriented
- Excellent communication skills in **French and English**, spoken and written
