RDJ Bakeries is looking to hire a **Quality Auditor** for the **WEEKEND Night shift**.
**Job purpose**
Responsible for monitoring product, paperwork and employee practices throughout the plant via on-the-line checks and continuous department touring, as well as maintaining technical production information that is issued to the production floor.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:
- Responsible for ensuring that the product manufactured meets the Company’s finished product quality expectations, as per customer requirements.
- Individual must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team and ensure that Company’s quality & food safety expectations are being met and understood by all team members.
- Individual will Perform process checks throughout the production, packaging, sanitation and warehouse functions of the company including GMP, metal detection, label and coding verification, general hygiene and safety, as well as in process and finished product weights and record on Quality audit report.
- Individual will be required to complete internal, external and glass and plastic inspections and issue work orders when required.
- Individual will be responsible for completing daily Personnel verification record.
- Individual must be able to work well in a self-paced environment while meeting scheduled quality check expectations (minimum of 2 per shift).
- Individual will be required to ensure operators/crew leaders/packers are following proper area and personnel GMP’s, and reporting deviations to appropriate supervisors.
- Individual will ensure proper procedures are being followed during regular, customer specific, organic and allergen changeovers.
- Individual will be required to perform Allergen swabbing verification during Allergen changeovers and assist in Allergen validation as directed by QA supervisor.
- Individual will be required to validate the line cleaning via visual inspection and line swabbing as required.
- Individual will be required to verify that the process steps are being followed, operators are completing checks as required and completing proper documentation including but not limited to the recording of lot numbers, line checks, recording deviations and corrective actions when required, label compliance, CCP Checks and proper labelling of WIP and other finished goods. Any deviations noted must be communicated to appropriate supervisor.
- Individual will be required to verify that product meets all required specifications for food safety (i.e. Appropriate employee handling)
- Individual will be required to perform daily and weekly chemical concentrations checks.
- Individual will be required to ensure any non-conforming product is placed on HOLD. Individual will also ensure to complete the proper documentation and enter the Hold in the System and the Hold log. Samples are to be collected for further evaluation. Results and samples are to be sent on to Quality Supervisor.
- When informed of product designation, all tags are to be collected, proper sections of the hold documentation are updated. Completed package is to be handed in to Quality Supervisor as soon as this is done for each item on hold. Pallets must also be properly put back together before it is handed over to shipping.
- When new products are launched, samples are to be collected for shelf life validations and to send to customer when required.
- Individual will be responsible for Expired product evaluations.
- Individual is responsible for collecting and placing the retain samples in the retain sample storage cage. Individual will be required to log the retain samples in a database before being placed in the retain sample cage. Individual will ensure that the product Shelf Life/Retain cage is organized appropriately (i.e. By date and tidy).
- Individual will complete a QAS (Quality Attribute Sheet) record when required. There is a QAS binder with the Quality Attribute Sheets for the products requiring this evaluation to be completed.
- Individual will be responsible for Flour tailings and Flour Filter checks.
**Qualifications**
- Must be able to follow written and verbal communication.
- Must have a good understanding of the English language.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Must be able to lift 5-10 lb.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Great attention to detail with accuracy, especially in regard to product specifications.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including multitasking
**Working conditions**
- Always work indoors.
- May be exposed to very hot temperatures from ovens.
- May work close to others, usually within a few feet.
- Usually wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, and beard nets.
