Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Document Controller in our Transmission & Distribution Program. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position is located in our Vancouver, BC office. This role has an overall responsibility for providing support to Wood project teams in the control and issuance of engineering documents. Salary range - $50,000-$90,000

- Supporting engineering projects through the management of project documentation
- Ensuring that the document control function is being performed in accordance with corporate procedures and project requirements in a timely and efficient manner
- Participate in maintenance of SharePoint Project Workspace and Project Web
- Ensuring that all internally prepared drawings and documents are logged into the document control system, distributed, and returned by users in accordance with Wood and client procedures
- Ensuring all packages to be issued are complete and that all signing/checking is in accordance with Wood procedures
- Ensuring vendor drawings and documents in both electronic and hard copy format are logged with transmittal memoranda, distributed to, and returned by, users in accordance with Wood and client procedures
- Communicating effectively with the appropriate engineering disciplines including providing ongoing updates on status of work
- Ensuring required filing and archiving of technical documents is done in a timely manner
- Storing, securing, revising, retrieving, distributing and archiving electronic and hard copy documents
- Reproducing documents as required for project staff
- Produce drawing and document status reports
- Assisting with the maintenance of library information
- Develop procedures and workflows with consultation with Engineering, Project Services and Construction groups
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in a fast-paced office environment
- Experience in digital records management not required, but preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Familiar with general office practices and procedures
- Ability to operate a computer, and other standard office equipment
- Ability to work with the following programs on an intermediate level: Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; as well as Internet Explorer and Windows
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all staff levels within the office
- Ability to manage several projects at one time with frequent interruptions
- Experience in engineering and vendor document control is not required but preferred
- Firsthand experience with SharePoint an asset
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
