**Program Staff (PM) After School**

We use our experience in elementary and secondary education to create a traditional school setting that manages and adapts nimbly to a changing future.

Our school is run by a Ontario certified principal with 30 years of experience in both private and public schools from JK-12.

We are physically located in Kitchener Ontario

InnovOak is a Ministry Inspected Private School for Grades JK-12 and we grant an OSSD and our own ISHGD

We have an immediate opening for to add to our after-school program.

This role is forward facing. You would be the first point of contact when parents pick up their child. We are looking for someone who can positively manage a small group of children, attend to their needs and adhere to all safety requirements with warmth and common sense.

**Job Requirements**
- Maintain good public relations and act as an ambassador of the school (as first point of contact you must be able to demonstrate patience, common sense, empathy, and warmth to our parents and students
- Must be reliable and able to work from 3:15 to 6:00 Monday to Thursday (currently students leave by 5:00)
- Support the vision, philosophy, and procedures of the school in all aspects of role
- Responsible for ensuring safe pickup of students in care, ensuring that each child is handed off in person to approved adult
- Reponsible for maintaing calm and safety within the classroom during the program
- Responsible for ensuring students have snack, use washrooms and are playing appropriately
- May be asked to plan short activities to engage students with games, crafts, or other fun activities
- Responsible for clean up of space at end of shift
- Responsible for ensuring seamless communication from school to home is passed to parents at pickup
- Responsible for ensuring students are dressed and prepared for pickup times
- Must manage safe dismissal process and document pickup times as directed by principal
- Managing the Safe Arrival program by ensuring the Principal is made aware of any issues, absences or other issues
- Ensure that the program space is secured at the end of shift as needed

**Role Qualification**s**
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma is required;
- Prior Canadian work experience required,
- Must be able to work on site in Kitchener Ontario
- Prior First Aid training is required
- Mus submit a Vulnerable Services Check which is current in past 6 months
- Ability to complete assigned duties with mínimal supervision and communicate effectively in both oral and written form;
- Keen attention to detail and ability to multitask;
- ECE, EA, or PSW experiences would be an asset
- Reliability, Dependability, and Ability to relate to children in a role of care are crucial for this role

**Additional Information**:

- This is a casual part time role set at 8 hours per week (Currently M-R)
- Hours could be increased based on program demand
