The Position

The Manager, Community Giving is the provincial lead for the Third-Party Events and Tributes Giving portfolios. Reporting to the Senior Director, Leadership and Community Giving, core responsibilities for this role include:
Working with the Senior Director to determine the overall strategy and approach for the Community Giving portfolio ensuring it is aligned with our Foundation goals and priorities and delivers long-term success.

Determining, leading and implementing the actions and initiatives that support the strategic plan and objectives.

Leading and coaching the Community Events team to ensure excellent service and support for community champions, event participants, volunteers and donors

Working closely with community champions (with a particular focus on events raising over $50,000) to maximize their fundraising efforts and grow revenue

Collaborating with the Marketing & Communications team to optimize the use of online fundraising tools to help increase revenue, and to celebrate the contributions of our community fundraisers through social media and other communications tools

Actively searching for opportunities to further our relationships with potential major gift prospects and working closely with other fundraising teams, collaborating on effective donor relations strategies

Serving as the in-house expert on complex tax receipting and gaming regulations for third-party events

Provide strategic oversight of the Tributes Giving program (In Memory, In Honour, In Celebration & Weddings)

**Qualifications**:
Demonstrated success managing an extensive portfolio of events and donor relationships

Experience working with volunteers and volunteer committees/boards an asset

Must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends and holidays, and travel within the province

Must have a valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle

Core knowledge + skills

A proven proactive, goal-oriented achiever, strategic thinker and decision maker

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with champions, participants, volunteers, donors and colleagues

Strong ability to motivate and inspire a team, with a keen interest in staff development

Ability to lead in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Displays compassion, sound and mature judgment, and superior diplomacy

Demonstrated competence in computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with Luminate Online and Raiser’s Edge is an asset
