Every day we go above and beyond to deliver innovative solutions to help our clients make important decisions that directly impact the community and the environment. **As a Laboratory Analyst, your main responsibilities are to**: Instrument Analyst to operate GC/FID in the Main lab for the analysis of CCME Hydrocarbons. - Perform Hydrocarbon Analysis in water and soil samples using GC/FID. - Maintain instruments in optimized and calibrated condition, troubleshoot instrument problems. - Perform sample, reagent & calibration standard preparation. - Maintain a thorough understanding of data quality as it relates to sample extraction, instrumentation and chromatography. - Meet quality and turnaround time specifications as required by the client. - Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures are followed. - Maintain performance charts as per the QA/QC manual requirements, monitor for failure to meet tolerances and institute remedial action immediately. **You are the ideal Laboratory Analyst, if you have a**: - B.Sc. Degree in chemistry or equivalent - Three years’ experience in environmental chemistry - Previous GC experience is preferable. - Dynamic, energetic, motivated individual with a "can-do" attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Willing to confront challenges and ask questions to learn and grow. - Good time-management, multi-tasking and priority setting skills and are able to work under pressure with tight deadlines. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Adaptable and flexible to a changing environment. - Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. - Possess good computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office. - Experience with LIMS is an asset. - Organized, detail-oriented with excellent record keeping skills. **Shift schedule will be Sunday to Thursday (Friday as required), 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 am** Bureau Veritas is a world leader in testing, inspection and certification services.
