Food Safety Certification Incharge

Everland Natural Foods (Jiva Organics) is a Canadian organic and natural food manufacturer located in South Burnaby. The Food safety Certification Incharge will be responsible to lead the team in achieving HACCP certification leading to BRC/SQF levels. Potential for progress in accordance with the level of food safety certification achieved.
**Tasks**
- Ensure effective execution of the HACCP program to meet regulatory requirements (CFIA, USDA,QAI etc.), company, and customer food safety & quality standards in cooperation with the food safety coordinator, QC personnel, Plant manager and Director of food safety, quality and compliance
- Perform internal GAP assessments, Lead internal and external audits (HACCP,SQF, customers, CFIA, etc.), and ensure timely resolution of necessary corrective action items associated with all audits or CFIA concerns
- Lead risk assessment of machinery and plan routine maintenance.
- Lead the risk assessment of our foods, set testing standards and CCPs.
- Manage the supplier food safety program to ensure that incoming materials comply to regulatory requirements and new product specs needs.
- Develop training plan to optimize engagement and food safety.
- Must have knowledge in preparing product COA and Specification Sheet according to the standards for the food’s physical and microbiological limits and performing different laboratory tests on the raw materials and the final products.
**Qualifications**:
- 3 year HACCP experience GFSI (BRC or SQF Preferred)
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Science and Food safety studies certificate
- Excellent multi-tasking and task prioritization skills
- Task-driven action and results -oriented within deadlines.
- Professional communication skill - verbal and writing correspondence to customers, regulatory agencies, patient inter-departmental delegation & follow up skills.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent relevant education/experience
- Food safety: 3 years
**Compensation: TBD**
**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
