**Job Details**
**Position Title**: Program Advisor, Registered Practical Nursing Refresher (RPNR)
**Status**: Regular Part-Time Support
**Hours**:24 hours per week.
**Faculty/Department**: Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness.
**Campus/Location**: North Campus
**Salary**: $31.11 per hour
**What you will do**:
Under the direction of the Associate Dean CPL, the incumbent will support the growth of Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) within the assigned sector through program planning, contract training, consulting services, and partnership management. The Program Advisor (PA) is responsible for new program development, community liaison and quality control within the assigned field of expertise. The PA is expected to identify new program opportunities, create/modify courses, programs, and activities to meet the ever-changing needs of individual learners, the healthcare industry, and the community.
As a representative of the College, the incumbent will utilize excellent judgment to develop credible and meaningful relationships with industry partners and / or the community ensuring strictest confidentiality. They will work closely with the CPL Associate Dean (CPL AD) to identify opportunities and resolve concerns. The Advisor handles multiple responsibilities, solves complex problems and provides support and mentoring to the CPL Instructors, ensuring consistency with the mission and vision of the College and teaching and learning excellence.
Key Duties
- Student Support
- Advise students (career pathways and options).
- Support student success (coaching, providing strategies, guiding towards program completion).
- Develop plans for remediation as needed.
- Liaise with external stakeholders (employers, regulators) re: student progress / program completion.
- Resolve customer complaints/inquiries escalated by CPL Support Staff.
- Program Research
- Conduct market research and needs assessments as applicable.
- Develop and maintain internal and external professional contacts.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with industry partners and community organizations to identify and assess training needs.
- Identify and develop alternate delivery opportunities.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency + alignment within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness.
- Program Development / Implementation / Evaluation:
- Develop / create courses and programs (certificate / contract training / open enrollment) to meet the needs of industry partners and the community.
- Design / initiate curriculum as required.
- Identify supplies / books / software / equipment / facilities required.
- Customize programs and courses for contract training needs.
- Review course / program / instructor information with the CPL Associate Dean and utilize the data to plan, modify or cancel programs.
- Work with CPL Associate Dean to hire and assign CPL instructor assignments.
- Support and mentor CPL Instructional staff.
- Approve course curricula.
- Represent CPL on internal and external committees / organizations
- Marketing
- Collaborate on the design of specific marketing materials.
- Prepare course descriptions and write-ups.
- Write articles for internal and external communication and publication.
- Promote CPL activities internally and externally.
**What you bring to the role**:
**Education**:
- Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred
- Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario and associated hours to mantain designation
**Experience & Skills**:
Teaching experience at a college level and/or educator role within the hospital
- Possesses general computer skills to access relevant information and creates documents (Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrates ability to work under pressure in a complex, high profile situation with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates program coordination, planning and organizational experience and exposure to customer service
