**Position Summary**:The Team Lead - Shipping/Receiving ships, receives and records the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock to and from our warehouse facilities in addition to providing front line support the Warehouse Supervisor through execution of daily workloads, aiding in new-hire training and assisting in making procedures efficient
**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**:
- Works with Warehouse Administrators to assign stage lanes, trailers to doors and issue movements to shunt drivers. Ensure Shippers are staging and preparing shipments in accordance with the shipping schedule and daily shipping instructions. Ensure pallets are accurately labelled and scanned.
- Call out any missing trailers in their time range and 4 hours into the next shift to CSRs or carriers directly in off hours.
- Coordinate live loads or any urgent inbounds or empties for outbound
- Assign work to Shippers and Receivers.
- Call out issues to Supervisor and troubleshoot issues as necessary
- Call out any shorts with CSRs (usually only due to damages or lost inventory) and cut if requested
- Performs dock audits to validate pallets on the dock; checking each outbound trailer’s loading quality and safety, sign off on load sheet
- Ensures paperwork is complete and completed set forwarded to Warehouse Administrator and communicate completion to office
- Communicates with incoming shift to ensure proper hand-off of information
- Stages and prepares shipments in accordance with the shipping schedule and daily shipping instructions. Accurately labels and scans shipments
- Audits the condition of each shipment prior to loading. Ensures trucks are loaded properly, safely and all shipments leave on time with the necessary documentation.
- Keeps shipping packaging and stock areas organized and neat and manages stock rotation (first in first out)
- Receives incoming packaging materials returned from customers and stores it in a neat and orderly fashion. Records receipt.
- Oversee and answer questions pertaining to shipment or order information
- Performs other duties as required within his abilities as requested by supervisor or management
**Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies**:
- Valid lift truck driver license in High Reach (Crown stand-ups)
- Grade 12 High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-4 years related experience in a leadership role
- Able to speak, read and write in English
- Computer skills include use of MRP system (ASN, Scan, Shipment/receipt entry)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good attendance record
- Assigns the highest priority to customer satisfaction while meeting commitments to achieve business objectives
- Creates a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
- Responsible for promoting and seeking excellence in all aspects of business
- Capable of safe heavy lifting
- Coaching on best practices
- Leading daily work orders and delegating tasks as per the Warehouse Supervisor
- Fully capable of working in varying temperatures. Temperatures may range anywhere from 2 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius in most Brimich Warehouses.
