The Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton (ASBHNHH) is seeking a Team Lead, Volunteer Services. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources and collaborating with organizational leadership teams, this role is responsible for overseeing volunteer recruitment and developing a comprehensive Volunteer Services strategy for ASBHNHH. The Team Lead, Volunteer Services will promote the ASBHNHH as an exceptional place to volunteer or complete unpaid student placements, ensuring the organization’s presence at community events, job and volunteer fairs, presentations at secondary and post-secondary schools, and through other innovative outreach efforts.

This position will be responsible for creating, refining, and managing a streamlined approach to volunteer recruitment, onboarding, management, evaluation, and engagement. The Team Lead, Volunteer Services will also serve as the primary point of contact for corporate volunteer opportunities and partnerships. Additionally, the role ensures that volunteer services meet the diverse needs of ASBHNHH’s client populations across all served regions.

The Team Lead, Volunteer Services will oversee program work plans, including ongoing quality improvement initiatives, program evaluations, and timely statistical reporting.

**Responsibilities**:
**Supervision and Volunteer Support**
- Conducts regular supervision meetings with all volunteers, assists with transitioning volunteers to designated program areas, and follows up to ensure the program and tasks are a good fit for both the volunteers and the program.
- Develops and maintains a volunteer manual for internal use that provides information and guidelines for leaders overseeing volunteers to ensure practices meet all applicable organizational, accreditation and legislative requirements.
- Develops and maintains a volunteer handbook/manual for volunteer use that provides program information, scheduling procedures, job/task descriptions and expectations.
- Works with organizational leadership teams and staff who oversee volunteers to ensure a qualified leader is designated to support volunteer involvement.
- Ensures the organization and its programs/sites provide a safe and supportive environment for volunteers, with the necessary resources to help them succeed.

**Program Leadership and Development**:

- Streamline and oversee volunteer acquisition processes and improvement of existing volunteer programs: recruitment, onboarding, training, recognition, retention, and offboarding.
- Creates an overall volunteer acquisition strategy including streamlining marketing and recruitment efforts, standardized onboarding, orientation, training practices, volunteer evaluations, offboarding and exit interviews**.**:

- Actively promote volunteers within the organization, integrating them into programs, services, and new initiatives to support the organizational mission and the foundation's goals.
- Develops ongoing expertise in best practices and technologies within volunteerism, particularly those related to recruitment, and makes recommendations on strategies to modernize existing structures and processes.
- Maintain and post volunteer opportunities, respond to inquiries, and build partnerships with educational institutions.
- Represents the organization at conferences, forums, community events, volunteer fairs, career fairs, and finds other innovative ways to market the organization as a great place to volunteer.
- Work with HR and leadership to enhance recruitment, retention, and alignment of volunteer processes.

**Other**:

- Represent the ASBHNHH in the community and participate in organizational committees.
- Promote the organization’s mission, vision and values, acting as a positive and enthusiastic role model for all staff and volunteers.
- Participates in organizational committees and task forces as requested or assigned by HR Manager.
- Maintains current knowledge of dementia, chronic diseases, and relevant resource information.
- Complies with organizational policies and procedures.
- Takes an active role in promoting and protecting personal health and safety and the health and safety of others, both staff and consumers. [Sec. 28(2) OHSA].
- Participates as a member of the Leadership Team
- Collaborates with other colleagues in tasks such as organizing events, including setting up and cleaning up of rooms for activities and special events.
