**Job Purpose and Overview**:Life After Impact: Rebuilding Lives after Gender-Based Violence and Concussion is a unique, interdisciplinary program designed to support individuals who have experienced gender-based violence (GBV) and sustained a concussion or brain injury. These invisible injuries can severely affect an individual’s ability to maintain employment, manage daily responsibilities, and live independently. This program provides wrap-around, individualized support to help participants regain autonomy, rebuild economic security, and improve quality of life.
The Outreach and Program Coordinator will play a key role in the successful delivery of the program, with a focus on stakeholder engagement, outreach, participant recruitment, community partnership development, and overall program coordination. This position ensures the program reaches equity-deserving populations and remains accessible, culturally relevant, and well-integrated across sectors.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
**1. Program Development and Implementation**
- Collaborate with the project team to research, develop, and implement an accessible, evidence-informed support program exploring topics including financial literacy, vocational skills, health literacy, mental health and coping strategies, relationships and communication for individuals with GBV-related concussion/brain injury.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of resources.
- Hosts educational webinars about the program to increase awareness about the program and recruit participants with GBV-related concussions/brain injuries.
- Assist in designing and delivering training for community organizations and service providers on GBV-related concussion/brain injury.
**2. Program Coordination**
- Provide comprehensive operational support to ensure the smooth implementation and delivery of all program components.
- Coordinate and attend all project team meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
- Ensure that the project remains on target with established timelines, deliverables, and outcomes, proactively identifying and addressing any barriers or risks.
- Support the interdisciplinary team (Registered Social Worker/Project Lead, Occupational Therapist and Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist) by coordinating logistics and facilitating internal communications.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop and manage tools and systems for tracking participant progress, outreach activities, and overall program performance.
- Assist in the design and administration of program evaluations, including pre
- and post-tests, social validity surveys, and satisfaction questionnaires.
- Engage participants in evaluation activities, support the collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, and contribute to program reports and recommendations.
- Assist with literature reviews and environmental scans to inform content development, outreach strategy, and evaluation metrics.
- Draft scripts and content outlines for asynchronous video modules and simulations, ensuring alignment with curriculum themes and survivor-informed insights.
- Promote a collaborative approach to problem-solving by fostering a respectful, inclusive, and learning-oriented environment for both staff and participants.
**3. Outreach & Promotion**
- Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach strategy in collaboration with the Project Lead and Team to promote the program across Ontario.
- Build and maintain relationships with key referral sources and community partners such as:
- Shelters and transitional housing programs
- Crisis lines and women’s support services
- Indigenous-led and culturally specific organizations
- Brain injury service providers
- Community Brain Injury Associations
- Healthcare providers
- Community legal clinics and resource centres
- Actively engage equity-deserving communities and organizations to raise awareness and increase program participation.
- Develop and disseminate promotional materials and social media content that are culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and accessible.
- Work with OBIA’s Communications Coordinator to monitor outreach impact and adjust strategies based on engagement data and feedback.
**4. Other**
- Assume such other duties as assigned by the CEO and/or designate.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in community development, health promotion, public health, women’s studies, social work, or a related field.
- Experience in outreach, program coordination, stakeholder engagement, or community mobilization—preferably within a nonprofit, social service, or health-based settings is preferred.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and supportively as part of a dynamic team environment.
