Our mission is to empower individuals to live fulfilling lives through person-directed planning, advocacy and support as they reach for their dreams and make decisions about their own lives. We are currently seeking a Residential Supervisor to join our management team.
Reporting to the Residential Manager, the Residential Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision and efficient operation of their assigned community home/small option, in accordance with the philosophy, mission, and policies and procedures of QASL; as well as compliance with provincial regulatory requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provides leadership, direction and advocacy to ensure a high-quality service to residents while creating a positive and healthy work environment for staff.
- Ensures adherence to all licensing and regulatory requirements under the Disability Support Program, Protection for Persons in Care Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act; ensuring compliance at all times.
- Ensures individual residents' physical and mental health needs are met, and that opportunities are provided for their individual choices and personal outcomes.
- Promote and adhere to the guiding principles of Respect, Integrity, Caring, Knowledge (R.I.C.K.).
- Models a positive and respectful attitude, ensuring staff develop effective relationships with the residents. Ensures a consistent team approach to resident programming.
- Coordinates the development of support and care plans; ensuring they align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements and reflect the aspirations and desired outcomes of the individuals who choose our services.
- Coordinates resident and staff involvement in the development, implementation, and evaluation of My Plans (IPPs) and quarterly reports.
- Display effective leadership in ensuring occupational health and safety compliance while actively fostering a culture of workplace safety and well-being.
- Flexibility with scheduling and availability to meet the dynamic needs of the community homes program; crisis response and intervention as required.
- Provides highly effective leadership to staff through clear and timely communication and direction, problem-solving, conflict resolution, mediation and support.
- Conducts effective performance review meetings and implements performance management as needed and at the appropriate level adhering to policy and the Collective Agreement.
- Assists the HR Assistant with scheduling needs and maintains accurate records.
- Facilitate monthly staff team meetings, ensuring accurate attendance and minutes are recorded.
- Ensures fiscal accountability following budgets and policies.
- Participates in the Emergency On Call system on a rotational basis.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Services/Disability Supports with previous leadership/supervisory experience.
- Experience working directly with individuals with disabilities and a strong understanding of self advocacy.
- Knowledge of licensing requirements under the Disability Support Program as well as the Human Rights Review and Remedy Report.
- Highly engaging, motivating and exhibits a positive approach to leadership.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the capacity to relate well with coworkers, staff, residents, families, community partners, and care coordinators.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the Supervisory and management teams.
- General understanding of financial controls and the ability to adhere to assigned program budget.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision; demonstrates effective time and stress management.
- Strong foundation in Occupational Health and Safety practices.
- Provide a clean Vulnerable Sector check, driver’s abstract and access to a safe, reliable vehicle.

Salary range $61,154.59 - $71,939.15
