Credit & Collections Manager

**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a driven, self-motivated and entrepreneurial individual who has a desire to be part of an early stage company. As our **Manager, Accounts Receivable & Collections** you will be extremely hands on handling volumes of accounts in a fast-paced environment as well as taking on managerial accountabilities and setting your team up for success while tracking and reporting on key metrics. This is a hybrid role that involves spending 2-3 days per week at our office in Kitchener, ON.

**On a Typical Day, You Will**:

- Review delinquent accounts receivable and determine the proper collection strategy
- Assist with all collection activities; escalate accounts that require attorney and agency involvement
- Utilize construction liens, bond rights, and other collection tools - UCC’s, joint checks, and payment bonds - as appropriate
- Handle disputes and determine repayment plans while remaining customer-minded and empathetic
- Manage a small team of collections specialists, providing guidance and mentorship, conducting regular 1:1s, and supporting organizational management processes such as performance evaluations
- Collaborate with Director, Financial Controller and Chief Revenue Officer to develop strategies and objectives for continued team success
- Ensure all deposits are recorded in the accounting system by reconciling against bank deposits.
- Establish processes to ensure customers are onboarded in our accounting system for timely invoicing
- Conduct various reconciliations and analysis to support the finance function
- Record bulk credit card payments received in the accounting system including foreign exchange.
- Assisting with Accounts Payable and various month-end tasks accounting tasks as needed

- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Post-secondary accounting degree or diploma in Business Administration or Accounting
- 5+ years’ relevant experience with processing high volume AR, including experience managing a collections or AR function
- Extensive experience with record keeping, reporting and analysis or AR matters Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks (CRM management as well as various other system utilization an asset)
