**Job Summary**:
In consultation with the Program Manager the Community Support Worker provides life skills training and support services for clients regarding issues such as personal care and other aspects of daily living, access to community leisure programs, housekeeping duties, planning and preparing meals, booking medical appointments and organizing and supporting a client to follow through with a weekly schedule with one or more brain injured clients living in the community. The Support Worker empowers the client(s) to perform all aspects of daily living as independently as possible, providing support and intervention where necessary

**Qualifications**:
Recent related experience working with the brain injured or other disabled population
- Current certification and documents in the following areas: emergency first aid or equivalent, CPR level A.
- Relevant post secondary education or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- The use of a personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and other outings.

**Schedule**:

- Client Sessions are typically Mon - Fri, and booked between 8 am - 6 pm
- Each client session can vary in length, most are typically from 1 hour - 4 hours
- As a casual staff, client sessions are assigned based on available client contracts, areas of availability, and client needs.
- Hours per week can vary between 0 - 40 hours

**The successful applicant for this position will be required to provide the following documentation**:

- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License (Class 5 learners, Class 7, and International Drivers Licenses are **not** acceptable)
- An acceptable 5 year Driving History Report from ICBC
- Proof of a recent Negative Tuberculosis Test
- A Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate with CPR Level A
- Proof of any related Diplomas, or other Education Certificates
- The Contact Information for at least 3 employment references

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $27.92 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
