Female Hourly Youth Support Worker

This specialized live-in home support program supports youth 17 to 19 years old with complex needs to develop life skills and prepare them for independent living and young adulthood.
This program focuses on core life skills such as cooking, cleaning, basic budgeting, and self-care while living semi-independently. The youth in this program have their own independent suite in the residence to provide a sense of autonomy, while still having the support from staff in the resource.
**Shift Types**:
- **Morning 7am to 3pm**:
- **Afternoon 3pm-11pm**:
- **Awake Overnight 11pm-7am**
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Minimum: diploma in child and youth care, psychology, criminology, or related social services field
- Minimum of 2 years directly related experience and an understanding of mental health, substance misuse, attachment and trauma informed practice
- **MUST HAVE Class 5 License and reliable vehicle for use during your shift**:
- Standard First-Aid Level 1 with CPR
- Clear criminal record
- Strong rapport building/relational skills, that includes culturally competent and respectful interactions with youth, co-workers, and stake holders
- Ability to perform and teach basic household life-skills: budgeting, grocery shops, meal preparation, and cleaning
- Versatility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Effective time management, organizational skills, and computer skills
**Responsibilities**
- Provide compassionate caregiving and support to clients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Support youth with daily living activities, including meal preparation and medication administration
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment while managing household tasks.
- Utilize strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Supporting the youth in achieving their goals indicated in their individualized service plans
Pay: $26.74 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
