**Cheshire Homes Society of BC (CHSBC) **is looking for a **Cantonese Speaking Community Support Worker **to work with clients in the following regions: Coquitlam. Please note applicants must have a vehicle available for work and a Class 5 BC Driver's License, and be able to speak conversational Cantonese. CHSBC's Model of Service is "**Do with, not for.**" Our staff support our clients to reach their goals and reach their optimum level of independence. **Job Summary**: In consultation with the Program Manager, the Community Support Worker provides life skills training and support services for persons with disabilities, including acquired brain injuries, regarding issues such as personal care and other aspects of daily living, access to community leisure programs, housekeeping duties, planning and preparing meals, booking medical appointments and organizing and supporting a client to follow through with a weekly schedule with one or more brain injured clients living in the community. The Community Support Worker empowers the client(s) to perform all aspects of daily living as independently as possible, providing support and intervention where necessary. **Qualifications**: - Recent related experience working with the brain injured or other disabled population - Recent related experience in behaviour modification techniques - Current certification and documents in emergency first aid or equivalent and CPR level A - Relevant post secondary education or equivalent combination of education, training and experience - Proficient in written and spoken English - Class 5 Driver's License - The use of a personal vehicle to drive to clients’ homes and drive clients to appointments and other outings. - Fluent in Cantonese **Starting Wage**: $24.64/hour **Hours**: This is a casual position with the potential to work up to 40 hours/week based on client contracts. **CHSBC** is a charitable, not-for-profit society, incorporated on October 3, 1973 (No.10478) Providing Community Based Residential Rehabilitation Programs to Survivors of Brain Injury for over 40 years. **Our Mission**: To support persons with disabilities to achieve their optimal level of independence and enhance their quality of life through innovative services, education, and community integration. **Our Vision**: Cheshire Homes Society of British Columbia will be a recognized leader and dependable brand in delivering best practices and achieving successful outcomes for persons with disabilities. **Our Values**: We recognize that each person has the right to Acceptance, Empowerment, Independence, and Opportunities. **Job Type**: Casual **Salary**: From $24.64 per hour Schedule: - Day shift - Monday to Friday COVID-19 considerations: All staff are required to provide proof they have received at least 2 doses of a Covid 19 vaccine.
