ROLE PURPOSE This role will contribute to the establishment and operation of a Fraser Health-funded Assisted Living program for individuals who are living with an acquired brain injury and require support to live more independently in the community. The Mental Health Support Worker will build relationships and assist residents to transition into and live successfully in the residence, ensuring that residents’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs are met.
They will work alongside other staff to assist residents with activities of daily living and the development of life skills. HOURS Mornings (08:00 - 16:00) Evenings (16:00 - 00:00) Overnights (00:00 - 08:00) Casual employees must be available for at least seven overnight, seven daytime, and seven evening shifts each month. These positions require the ability to work flexible hours during the daytime, evenings, and weekends based on operational needs. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Assists residents with life skills, including establishing identification and bank accounts, schedule reminders, meal planning and food preparation, household management/cleaning, budget planning and money management), ensuring taxes are completed annually.
