Security Site Supervisor

Synergy Protection Group Inc. is looking for experienced and dedicated Security Site Supervisor to join our exciting, hard working and growing team in Ottawa, Ontario

**Job Status: Full Time (Permanent Position)**

**1. Continental Overnights / 8:00 pm to 8:00 am**

This is an opportunity to interact with people daily and take pride in keeping them and our building safe and secure. The on-duty Security personnel is often the first person that people come into contact with as they begin their workday or visit of our facility. We’re looking for someone with a friendly attitude who can represent our organization well while focusing on its security.

**Job Duties**:

- Thoroughly investigate any security breaches, incidents, or suspicious activities within the shelter premises.
- Record detailed observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities in comprehensive reports.
- Maintain a visible and vigilant presence on-site to deter potential security threats.
- Skillfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing urgent matters effectively.
- Supervise and coordinate on-site security personnel, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to protocols.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas within the shelter premises to identify and address any security vulnerabilities.
- respond to any signs of unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
- Engage with shelter residents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, adopting a customer service-oriented approach to security.
- Address inquiries, concerns, and requests with empathy and efficiency, maintaining a positive rapport with the public.
- Enforce relevant laws and regulations, including the Trespass to Property Act, to uphold the safety and integrity of the shelter environment.
- Promptly escalate situations requiring intervention or assistance from law enforcement agencies.
- Collaborate effectively with external authorities, providing necessary support and information to facilitate their response.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and documentation for all security-related incidents, adhering to professional standards of writing.

**Requirements**:

- A valid Ontario security license and First aid / CPR Certificate
- 2 years of Supervisor Experience
- **Use of Force certification required**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Can stay alert at all times
- Ability to respond well to emergency situations

Pay: $20.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Security Supervisor: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Ontario Security Guard License (required)
- Use of Force Certificate (required)
- Class G Licence (preferred)
