**Job Summary**:
The Manager, Strategy Services is responsible for building the strategic framework and associated services to lead WCB's overall corporate strategy, planning activities, and transition to operational plans.
**Job Duties**:
Overall responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of an over-arching strategy methodology framework that will be used to support WCB's senior executives in setting the organization's future vision and agenda.
Prepares to lead the strategic planning process by actively engaging with WCB stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations and conducting ongoing assessments of industry and environmental scans to identify key industry trends. Synthesizes findings to formulate potential opportunities for the WCB to pursue.
Leads the Executive Management team through the annual strategic planning process; updates the strategic framework and presents the revised plan to the Board of Directors.
Owns and maintains the strategic framework, identifying and tracking all strategic initiatives, managing objectives and key results and measuring them against the KPI indicators and reports on progress
Establish strategy metrics that will provide an early warning that the business objectives may not be met. Report and escalate concerns as required.
Proactively identifies any areas of risk that could impact successful execution of corporate commitments and supports the business to resolve or mitigate issues and risks. Escalates concern, as required.
Responsible for working with all levels of leadership to enable transition from strategic planning to execution by establishing clear accountabilities for strategy execution, aligning divisional and departmental goals, processes and resource allocation.
Acts as a resource and coach to strategy and planning discussions across the organization. Assists management is defining, owning and executing their strategic and operational priorities.
Manages a group of professionals, provides leadership, guidance, support and direction including: hiring staff, conducting performance reviews and follow up, identifying training and development needs, coaching and motivating staff; and coordinating work activities and deciding on disciplinary action up to and including dismissal where necessary.
Plans, directs and controls day-to-day operation and administration of the Strategic Services department.
Develops and maintains communications with all levels of management to build internal partnerships that assist the organization meeting the strategic objectives and achieving the vision.
Oversees budgetary, operations and directs the prioritization of work within the Strategic Services department.
Pursues professional and personal development through continuing education and training, literature reviews and developing external/community contacts and networks.
**Qualifications**:
University degree in business, public administration or related area.
5 years of experience in relevant, progressive experience towards strategic development at an executive level, with at least 2 years of experience in management.
Superior written and verbal communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to senior executives and Board members.
Ability to convey complex information in a concise and straightforward manner.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills to develop creative approaches and/or solutions for resolving complex problems.
Ability to promote and lead organizational change.
Ability to lead, manage, mentor and motivate staff.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple demands and projects across organizational divisions.
