**Position Title**
- Consent Education Coordinator**Position Summary**

- Reporting to the Manager, Student Supports, the Consent Education Coordinator is responsible for the promotion of education, awareness and programming initiatives surrounding sexual and gender-based violence prevention, with a goal to support the Polytechnic’s commitment to building a consent culture and cultivating a trauma-informed campus.- The Consent Education Coordinator will work in collaboration with other Counselling services staff and faculty as well as with other RDP Departments and community stakeholders.**Position Responsibilities**
**Program Promotion**
- Develop, schedule, and offer presentations to the campus community to further understanding and knowledge of critical topics related to sexual and gender-based violence and to increase knowledge of the sexual and gender-based violence policy and service roles within the office of sexual and gender-based violence prevention and education.
- Establish and maintain relationships with faculties, student services, residence services, Wellness Services staff and physicians, clubs, and student associations to facilitate communication and awareness on sexual and gender-based violence and healthy relationships.
- Maintain relationships and collaborate with outside agencies, such as the Central Alberta Sexual Assault and Support Centre.
- Facilitate preventive measures and awareness of gender-based violence at Red Deer Polytechnic.
- Build a consent culture, promoting healthy relationships, safeguarding our own mental health, and myth-busting to reduce the incidence of sexual and gender-based violence
**Program Coordination**
- Establish collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders and outside agencies to ensure effective wrap-around support for impacted individuals and to facilitate knowledge/understanding of supports in place should a disclosure be received.
- Create an annual calendar of events & activities to raise awareness.
- Create, develop, and maintain online resources related to sexual violence prevention and support resources.
- Working with the Mental Health Education Coordinator, recruit, and train student volunteers to help with various programs and initiatives.
- Establish and maintain a marketing plan, including social media presence, to promote awareness and share resources related to sexual violence prevention and awareness
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to evaluate and keep the sexualized violence website current.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct research and engagement within a community of practice to monitor emerging trends and best practices which may inform resource development, programming, and partnership opportunities.
- Collect data and evaluation information on programs, events, and initiatives in order to inform planning
**Continuous Growth and Acquisition of New Skills**
- Participates in training and professional development activities as they become available.
- Seeks learning opportunities from other staff (e.g. Peer mentoring) in the Student Supports to increase knowledge of Division of Student Success services and to provide initial support and triage to students, faculty and staff.
- Familiarizes oneself regularly with policy and procedures to meet user needs expediently and accurately without misdirection.
**Required Qualifications**
- Four (4) year undergraduate degree, or three (3) year undergraduate degree plus one full additional year of University in a related program representing four years of study or equivalent. Relevant programs include Health Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education.**Preferred Qualifications**
- One to two years of experience developing adult-based education materials.
- One to two years of experience using a variety of techniques for successful program delivery, both virtually and in person, and have excellent presentation skills which lean on learning and development best practice to engage students effectively.
- Ability and knowledge to work with an increasingly diverse student and staff population as well as a proven commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated aptitude with computer software and programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, and content management systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and online communication skills.
- Strong self-motivation and initiative.
- Ability to work in a changing, progressive, team-orientated environment.
