**PURPOSE**:

- To address the needs of women and families turned away from shelter due to capacity, women leaving shelter, and other victims in the community needing supports

***:

- The DV Outreach Team, formerly the Intensive Case Management (ICM) Team, build on existing programming (in shelter and in the community) to provide intentional and intensive specialized support services tailored to the unique needs of women and children leaving family violence.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Mental Health/Addictions or a related field. Equivalent experience and education will be considered

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and provide safety plans
- Coordinate and manage high risk cases
- Support in obtaining or maintaining safe housing
- Optimize current shelter spaces through a coordinated shelter network
- Coordinate comprehensive wrap-around community services for the family
- Provide trauma-informed, low barriers, harm reduction practices
- Provide domestic violence education, programming, and groups for clients
- Create supportive and positive relationships with clients
- Continue to assess level of risk, vulnerabilities, circle of supports, plans with client
- Provide ongoing assessment, case planning, and strength-based goals
- Make referrals to other agencies and provide information on available supports
- Provide advocacy
- Assist clients with budgeting and basic needs etc.
- Attend/facilitate case conferencing
- Collect and document case notes, intakes, and discharges in database
- Obtain consent from clients and maintain confidentiality for clients
- Provide support for appointments (Family/Criminal/Court/Civil) Child and Family Services etc.
- Deliver/facilitate community educational workshops on shelter services, processes, and domestic violence
- Collaborate/liaise with community and rural agencies
- Keep abreast of current trends and best practice training
- Attend team meetings

**SKILLS**:

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in working with culturally diverse communities/families and the ability to be culturally sensitive and non-judgmental
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Group facilitation experience, mediation, and negotiation skills
- Effective listening and verbal skills
- Effective public speaking and public relations skills
- Experience in adult learning and training
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 programs and database usage
- Stress management skills

**REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION**:

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 14 months

**Salary**: From $24.92 per hour
