Jake’s House is dedicated to delivering assistance to those who need it right now, while also determined to establish a support system for future generations. **JOB OVERVIEW** Jake’s House is looking for a safety focused Developmental Service Specialist for a two-month contract. The Developmental Service Worker will work closely withyou will work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities to provide support and assistance in a construction setting. **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in performing construction-related tasks if needed. - Evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses to determine appropriate task assignments. - Ensure that individuals are equipped with proper safety equipment and follow's safety procedure before engaging in construction activities. - Participate in regular safety training and be responsible for ensuring participants follow safety protocols. - Track worker progress and provide regular feedback to Jake's House - Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants and community partners **REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION** - Completion of a relevant program or equivalent experience in developmental services - Experience in construction and/or ability to learn construction basics - Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and materials - Excellent organizational and time-management skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with developmental disabilities - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation - Excellent written and verbal skills, who actively listens - Strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively and is capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously - Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel -advanced level, PowerPoint, etc.). **IDEAL CANDIDATES (CULTURE FIT)** - Kind and empathetic, understanding the families we support always come first - Go-getter with a positive attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, and an eagerness to wear many hats - Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and results-driven; little supervision required to achieve goals - Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills - Thrives in fast-growing, dynamic environments; able to multi-task on concurrent projects - Positive, energetic, enthusiastic, passionate - Committed, disciplined - Compassionate, caring, understanding, genuine, strong 'family values" Jake’s House is an equal opportunity employer.
