**Overview**:
As a Quality Assurance Associate and Alternate Quality Assurance Person, you will support the Quality Assurance Person in implementing and maintaining quality management systems and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will assist in quality control testing, documentation management, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold product integrity and safety.
**Responsibilities**:
**Quality Assurance**:
- Assist in coordinating product testing activities, including sampling, analysis, and validation of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Perform line clearances and inspections to in compliance with specifications.
- Record and document non-compliances and communicate findings to the Quality Assurance Person.
- Ensure the vendors are qualified and materials are adequately received and in specification.
- Aid in the investigation and reconciliation processes.
- Support the shipping and receiving process by conducting weight and quantity assessments of incoming inventory, obtaining precise records of incoming stock, and guaranteeing its proper movement and storage within the facility.
**Documentation and Record-keeping**:
- Support the maintenance of comprehensive records of all quality-related activities, including batch records, certificates of analysis, and quality assurance documentation.
- Ensure that all documentation is organized, archived, and readily accessible for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Assist in the preparation and review of regulatory filings, notifications, and reports.
**Regulatory Compliance**:
- Stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, testing, and distribution.
- Assist in ensuring that all operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Participate in regulatory inspections and audits and contribute to the development of corrective action plans as needed.
- Ensure vendors are qualified and incoming materials and components are received within specification.
**Training and Development**:
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of quality assurance policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Person to promote a culture of quality and compliance throughout the organization.
- Seek opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement to support career growth.
**Continuous Improvement**:
- Assist in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of quality assurance programs and initiatives.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for process optimization, efficiency gains, and quality improvement projects.
- Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement efforts.
**Qualifications**:
- Health Canada Security clearance and previous AQAP or QAP approval required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, preferably in the cannabis industry or a regulated environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate records.
