**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate and manage the pastry section of the kitchen and liaise with the General Manager to ensure a successful working environment.
- Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to departmental standards
- Establish priority items for the day
- Executing pastry orders for catered events and accommodating special requests.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely
- Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment and supplies
- Monitor food temperatures. Report any discrepancies
- Maintain inventory, stock levels, supplies, and equipment
- Comply and action all health, food safety and hygiene standards and policies
- Other duties may be assigned

**REQUIREMENTS**

**Experience**
- Minimum of 1 year of pastry/baking experience preferred
- Culinary certification or degree from culinary school preferred
- Food Handler or equivalent certifications are an asset

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Strong communication skills in English
- Positive attitude and excellent customer-oriented approach
- Team player - assist in a positive guest experience however necessary
- Strong attention to detail

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position works in extreme temperatures (hot and cold) and requires standing for up to 8 hours per shift, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position also requires lifting up to 40lbs from floor to waist, waist to shoulder and shoulder to above head. This position also required twisting, turning, and reaching.
