Optical Sales Associate

Getting the right eyewear onto the right person can be a tough job, which is why we are looking for a highly motivated, hard-working, relationship-building, and goal-achieving individual to join our team. This role will assist in leading the optical sales function for the business.

You understand that building trust is the key to success, which is why you value strong customer service. You are comfortable utilizing various equipment to help test patients eyes, you know how to set and achieve targets and are confident in your ability to advise customers on the eyewear products that suit their style and function best. You also have an “eye” for fashion (no pun intended).

You are a friendly, dedicated, team-oriented, and well-organized multi-tasker with strong communication skills and a passion for the health and well-being of everyone. If you have previous related experience, even better Your administrative skills add diversity to your experience and you expect to learn a lot.

**What You’ll Do**:
You will work alongside the Optometrist and Optician and will create an impact by helping to ensure that customers receive the frames, lenses, or other eyecare products/services that best suits their requests.

Some of your duties will include:

- Assist in the overall sales process and customer experience for the optical business, and assist in the development of new processes/services to maintain high level of customer service
- Advise patients with frame, lens & sunglass selection, and offer the best advice based on customer requests and lifestyle
- Continuously remain up-to-date on new products and trends in the optical sector by participating in online and in person training sessions as needed
- Support Optician and Optometrist in frame inventory management, including organizing invoices from lens/frame companies, tracking popular frame styles, preparing for frame rep visits to refresh inventory, receiving and entering new inventory to computer system, packing and preparing old inventory to be shipped back to frame companies
- Assist with pre-testing for Optometrist and/or Ophthalmologist appointments
- Manage the scheduling of medical and optical appointments and handle walk-ins as necessary
- General administrative duties to help support the resident Optician and Optometrist as required, such as billing, patient recalls, patient processing, frame and lens ordering
- Manages and respond to customer complaints and warranty requests
- Responsible for opening and closing the business as required
- Monitor online/social media channels for marketing and sales opportunities

**What You’ll Bring**:

- College/university education or equivalent related experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative/sales role with proven and demonstrated success; experience in an optometric environment is helpful
- A professional, honest, and fun-loving attitude with a strong passion for delivering high quality customer service and achieving goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Must be fluent in English
- Interest in eyewear trends and a good eye for fashion
- Ability to stay calm when presented with challenging customers
- Strong multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills
- Highly detail-oriented and able to learn and use new technologies; Proficient in MS Office products
- Experience in insurance billing is considered an asset
- Must be available at times during the week and on some Saturdays as needed
