**Campaign Officer**:
**Primary Purpose**: The Campaign Officer provides executive level coordination and support of initiatives and relationships related to the success of a comprehensive campaign. Reporting to the Campaign Director, the Officer ensures that the institution’s principal gift strategies are executed and is responsible for key deliverables that ensure relationships continue to progress through successful cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. The Officer provides high-level support as a member of the campaign team, engaging with colleagues across the university to ensure institutional alignment and commitment to campaign priorities and goals.

The incumbent will work closely with University Relations leadership to execute the comprehensive campaign, including volunteer management, administrative reporting to volunteer and internal senior leadership, and implementation of fundraising initiatives. The Campaign Officer will be responsible for drafting and producing correspondence, reports, presentations and other fundraising documents including proposal development.

**Nature of Work**: Under the strategic direction of the Campaign Director, the Campaign Officer is a member of the Advancement team and is responsible for working with leadership and colleagues within Advancement in addition to other key relationships across the University Relations portfolio and beyond to build strategic relationships with prospects and donors and to execute key priorities and outcomes.

The work requires a proactive approach in a complex environment, with multiple and competing demands and strict deadlines. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences by a variety of methods and communication mediums. Considerable discretion is required as this position is privy to and routinely works with sensitive and confidential information and acts in a confidential capacity. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships and modeling best practices is essential to success.

University Relations (UR) is responsible for institutional advancement programs (alumni relations, communications and marketing, development, government relations and community engagement) and as such, is dedicated to supporting the advancement needs of all colleges, units and the university as a whole. UR is comprised of specialized teams including Operations and Services, Alumni and Community Relations, Development, and University Communications. More than 100 advancement professionals work at various locations including the central UR office in the Thorvaldson Building and in colleges and schools across campus.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:

- Play a key role in implementing principal gifts activities across the university;
- Evaluate metrics to consistently and effectively measure the progress of the comprehensive campaign towards its goal, and prepare campaign updates for delivery to university leadership, academic leadership, staff, and volunteers;
- Provides strategic and confidential support in managing principal relationships;
- Support volunteer efforts via the Comprehensive Campaign Cabinet and assists in activation of volunteers;
- Strengthen long-term relationships with the university’s major and principal gift donors by ensuring they are recognized and stewarded in ways that are meaningful to them and that are in alignment with institutional recognition guidelines;
- Interfaces with all areas of University Relations (Prospect Research, Gift Processing, Alumni Relations, Marketing and Communications) and across the institution to ensure a coordinated approach regarding execution of the comprehensive campaign;
- Develops communications, correspondence and proposals on behalf of university senior leaders, ensuring the appropriate tone is projected;
- Support special projects through a project framework to ensure outcomes and timeframes are achieved as planned, ensuring effective planning, coordination and execution;
- Work collaboratively with college advancement colleagues and appropriate members of the University Relations team to ensure all aspects of college and university advancement activity are closely aligned with relevant institutional policies and guidelines and in alignment and progressing towards campaign goals, objectives and messaging;
