**Nature and Scope**

**General Accountability**

The Recruitment Officer will play a key role in front-line provisions by planning, organizing and carrying out student recruitment at SIIT. The incumbent will actively recruit and engage with potential applicants and guide them through the proper process and procedure of admissions in order to become a registered learner. Collaborating with the Admissions team, this position will also involve, communications coordination and will support the admissions advising process for prospective applicants.

**Specific Accountabilities**

**_ Student Recruitment _**
- Attend job fairs and virtual recruitment events to meet with prospective students
- Assist supervisor in developing and implementing the strategy for and manage execution of student recruitment
- Responsible for distributing information about SIIT's programs across the province
- Assist in the planning and implementation of various recruitment events
- Monitor and report on the success of events and adjusts priorities to ensure strategic recruitment goals are met
- Maintain knowledge of programs by liaising with Deans, Program Coordinators and faculty
- Work with department leadership to develop, implement and evaluate recruitment programs, strategies and initiatives to promote SIIT as the institute of choice for prospective students to meet strategic enrolment objectives
- Engage with provincial labour force development agencies and community post secondary student support programs to promote SIIT in Indigenous communities and agencies.
- Organize and participate in recruiting activities such as SUTIL: The Saskatchewan Universities and Technical Institute Liaison
- Coordinate and lead Institute events such as tours, high school visits, and applicant open houses, for potential students, applicants, and other recruitment initiatives in collaboration with other applicable SIIT staff and faculty
- Work with SIIT marketing department in the development of the recruitment presentation and promotional materials
- Create new content, campaigns, and engagement on SIIT's social media platforms
- Represent the Institute in various committees/functions to establish working relationships and partnerships
- Research and stay current in best practices in student recruitment

Client Service_**
- Maintain positive rapport with applicants, stakeholders, faculty and administration
- Keep current with respect to assigned SIIT program areas and each program's entrance criteria and required qualifications
- Respond to all interested applicants within timely manner
- Refer learner applicants to internal or external resources as required

Administration & Coordination_**
- Proficiently manage the caseload of applicants within databases
- Provide technical and professional expertise
- Utilize other internal databases efficiently and effectively
- Continually monitor web-based information regarding SIIT current programs
- Conduct database, literature and web searches to find information to respond to inquiries from learner and community members
- Stay current with research and strategies relating to best practices in supporting applicants
- Ensure accurate information gathering, coupled with confidential data collection and documentation
- Update physical and electronic filing systems with new and current learners

**Required Qualifications and Experience**:A certificate or diploma in a business-related program is required. Minimum of one-year experience working with a learner population in a recruitment capacity is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset. Incumbent must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel is required. This position may also be required to work outside of normal business hours (evenings and weekends); travel and flexibility are requirements of this position. Off-campus recruitment activities are most intense during September, October and November. Digital recruitment efforts will require comfort with social media and electronic engagement strategies and may require timely responses outside of business hours.
