**POSITION OVERVIEW**
The Payroll Administrator at Northern Mat & Bridge will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate administration of employee payroll, related filings and reporting.
**KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & ASSOCIATED DUTIES**
- Payroll data
- Ensuring timely collection of payroll data from different sources and reviewing prior to processing.
- Prepare and record payroll journal entries using accrual accounting methods
- Payroll processing
- Weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Reconciling reports and resolving discrepancies.
- Processing, filing, and payments of source deductions.
- Distribution of paystubs and management of employee portals
- Payroll cash management
- Maintaining timelines and estimates of upcoming payments.
- Reconciling payroll reports to cash payments.
- Payroll records management
- Employee setup and offboarding
- ROE processing and filing
- Vacation tracking and payments
- Related payroll payment and records management
- WCB, EHT & CNESST filing, monitoring, and payments management
- Union and payroll deductions, reporting and payments
- Employee savings plans tracking, payments, and reporting
- Employee profit share administration and tracking of deferred payments
- Year-end reconciliations, T4, RL1 and T2200 filings and related returns
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
**EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:
- 2+ years processing full cycle payroll with a computerized payroll system.
- Experience with payroll systems such as Ceridian/Dayforce (preferred), ADP or Sylogist.
- Experience processing unionized payroll in a multi-functional environment considered an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV considered as asset.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Payroll training or certificate course completion preferred.
- PCP or CPM designation a strong asset.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to work independently.
- Problem-solver who can resolve discrepancies.
- Analytical and critical thinker who can work with large volumes of data.
- Self-starter who can recommend enhancements or changes.
- Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate across functions.
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills
COMPENSATION

REPORTS TO: Payroll Supervisor
- Internal: HR, Sales, Operations and Accounting departments
- External: Consultants, Contractors, government agencies, unions
Confidentiality: All Northern Mat & Bridge communication, inner workings, and documentation shall always remain confidential and the property of Northern Mat & Bridge.
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
