**_Western Energy Services Corp_**_is hiring a_**_ Payroll Administrator _**_to join our growing team_

Western Energy Services Corp. is an oilfield service company which provides contract drilling services through Horizon Drilling in Canada and Stoneham Drilling Corporation in the United States. In addition, Western provides well servicing through Eagle Well Servicing in Canada, and provides rental services through Aero Rental Services in Canada.

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, payroll remittances, and related reporting, including month-end reconciliations, WCB submissions, and T4 preparation. This role supports payroll operations for employees across multiple divisions in Canada and the U.S., processing payroll on a bi-weekly and semi-monthly basis.

Success in this position requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with employees, managers, and executives.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding time and attendance, payroll inquiries, and related concerns.
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance:

- Enter and validate employee data, including new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, benefit deductions, and garnishments.
- Process payroll using Microsoft Great Plains (GP) for Canadian divisions (transitioning to Dayforce).
- Process payroll for U.S. employees using ADP (transitioning to Dayforce).
- Verify and balance payroll reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with financial reporting, reconciliation, and audits.
- Generate and maintain payroll reports, queries, and ad hoc data requests while ensuring data integrity.
- Liaise with employees, managers, and executives across various divisions, both field-based and office-based.
- Research and resolve payroll-related discrepancies, liaising with internal teams and external service providers as needed.
- Document payroll workflows and processes to support ongoing improvements and knowledge sharing.
- Provide administrative support for payroll and HR-related filing as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Minimum of 1 year of direct payroll administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll and accounting principles, as well as provincial labor standards.
- Certified Payroll Professional (preferred).
- Experience processing in-house payroll is an asset.
- U.S. payroll processing experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains (GP), ADP, and Dayforce (or ability to quickly learn new payroll systems).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Professional, responsive, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

**Special Conditions of Employment**
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet payroll deadlines
