Wallbrook is seeking a Bookkeeper to assist the organization in its many consulting engagements. The Bookkeeper will support our team of Consultants with a number of current consulting engagements. This unique position will require an individual with a good background who is well versed in current cloud accounting technology and who is willing to roll up their sleeves to help the team succeed in any way required. This position will be fully remote - a dedicated remote workspace is required.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Own the general accounting functions to assigned Wallbrook consulting engagements including the preparation of bank, credit card, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations to support. This will include coaching the bookkeeping staff to prepare the general accounting functions, reviewing the work of the staff, preparing adjusting journal entries as appropriate, and performing in-depth monthly trial balance reviews
- Assist with organization of all client documentation in a cloud based environment
- Record journal entries in cloud-based accounting environments (Quickbooks Online, Sage 50, etc.)
- Creation of month-end and year-end financial reporting packages for various clients
- Prepare periodic payroll on behalf of clients
- Communication and coordination with external accounting firms of various clients to support the year-end process, including the preparation of various workpapers to support Audit, Review, and Notice-to-Reader engagements
- Periodic financial analysis for various Wallbrook clients including ratio analysis, KPI analysis, sensitivity analysis, and appropriate job costing to provide proper commentary and advice to clients
- Aid in onboarding of client employees to their organization including filling out of employment agreements
- Additional ad-hoc tasks to support Wallbrook client engagements and internal work
**Knowledge and Skills Required**
- 1-3 years in an accounting based role is required
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Previous experience with Quickbooks Online an asset
- Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
