- Field and laboratory testing for concrete, soil and aggregate testing according to CSA, ASTM, and AASHTO standards
- Field density/compaction testing on soil, aggregates, and other construction materials using a nuclear densometer
- Lab testing for soil moisture, Atterberge Limits, Hydrometer test, sieve analysis etc.
- Concrete testing in field and laboratory.
- Testing different road construction materials in the laboratory.
- Inspection for bearing capacity of soil, sub-base, base, and pavements
- Conducting maintenance of laboratory equipment and calibrate the testing equipment as necessary
- * Preparing test reports, and maintain laboratory and field equipment.
- Following and implementing safety procedures and instructions as per company safety policy.

**Qualification**:

- Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma or Civil or Geotechnical Engineering Degree
- Minimum one (1) year of field and laboratory experience is considered an asset but not necessary.
- Must be able to operate field and laboratory equipment properly.
- Knowledge of appropriate testing standards, specifications, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skill to manage field crews.
- Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications for construction projects.
- Experience with soil and concrete sampling in the field, environmental sampling, and environmental testing is considered to be an asset
- Must have valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license with clean driving record. Must comfortable to drive in Alberta Highways and rural roads. Willingness to travel based on project demands.
- Ability to perform some physical effort work, including work under variable environmental conditions, standing for extended periods of time, and lifting up to 50 pounds (lbs.)
- Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to do maintenance and care of material testing equipment & vehicles
