We offer an array of engineering consulting services from planning & design to monitoring and executing of projects including providing assistance as on site resident engineers and construction supervision. YEMSOL also provides quality assurance/control testing services with our CCIL certified technicians and materials testing laboratory for our clients in and out of Alberta, including providing services via mobile testing units.

**YEMSOL has an immediate opportunity available for a highly skilled Materials Testing Technician for our projects this construction season**.

**In this role, your responsibilities are**:

- Prepare and collect samples for on-site and laboratory testing
- Conduct on site and laboratory testing of various materials on construction sites such as soils and aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.
- Maintaining proper records of field testing and preparing daily test summary reports
- Communicating results effectively with onsite personnel and YEMSOL Supervisor
- Maintenance and care of materials testing equipment and vehicles.
- Actively Participate in YEMSOL’s Health and Safety, Radiation Safety, And Laboratory Quality Management Programs.
- Ability to identify and report any non-conformance concerns to the management.

**Minimum Qualification, Skills; Experience**
- 3-5 years of construction materials testing experience (**Asphalt in Particular**) at intermediate to senior level.
- Familiarity and knowledge working with Nuclear Density Gauges and Radiation Safety.
- Valid class 5 drivers’ licence with 3-year clean drivers abstract.Ability to travel based on project demands.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Data Software Programs).
- CSTS-2020.
- Detail oriented, ability to present results with high level of accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to lift 35-50lbs.

**Preferred Qualifications, Skills; Experience**
- Construction / Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate.
- CCIL/CSA accreditation.
- Previous experience in Geotechnical Investigations is considered an asset.
- Locally based in Alberta.
