Principal Associate, Corporate Social Responsibility (Contract)
**Responsibilities**:
- Bring Capital One Canada’s CSR vision to life by executing our marquee programming that delivers on our corporate mission of helping Canadians succeed with credit; refine and evolve programming to ensure we’re optimizing for impact & scale with our efforts, effectively and efficiently meeting our business goals
- Establish and manage strong relationships and ensure effective collaboration among internal stakeholders and external charitable partners, non-profit organizations and associations
- Drive the go-to market strategy of said CSR programming, ultimately shaping how our CSR strategy & programming show up in marketing collateral to deliver on our brand purpose
- Oversee a cross-functional team of associates activated to determine the business’ response and/or giving strategy toward major crises and events around the world that might affect our customers or associate base
- Find opportunities to communicate compelling storytelling around our CSR progress to drive associate advocacy and engagement in our efforts
- Collaborate with US & UK counterparts on a volunteerism strategy that we can bring to life in Canada
- Oversee our charitable giving budget, shared across our Business Resource Groups, which will involve close tracking, reporting, and forecasting on an ongoing basis
**Basic Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or equivalent degree in related field
- 3+ years experience executing on a CSR strategy at a large company or non-profit organization that was successful in delivering on business or charitable goals
- Able to lead in a dynamic environment, exercising excellent judgment and discretion as appropriate
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience self-directing and being able to switch between strategic and tactical initiatives regularly
- Additional certifications in not-for-profit, corporate social responsibility and/or fundraising an asset
- Skilled in relationship management, ideally with experience managing multiple partners/agencies at one time
- Advanced project management skills with proven outcomes
- Confidence to ask hard questions and push into uncharted territories - and not defaulting to the status quo before exploring new paths and quantifying risk / reward
- Experience “living the values” of former employers - being a culture carrier internally to help drive associate pride & engagement
- Strong communicator - both written and verbal - with the capacity to influence all levels of an organization
