**Settlement Worker, SWIS - Tamil speaking**

CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or immigration status.
We are**searching for a full-time Settlement Worker, SWIS, to provide settlement information and referral services to immigrants and refugees while located in designated schools in Scarborough.

**_ W_**_hat you will be doing:_**:
- Provide assessment, information, and orientation services to newcomer youth and parents in a school setting
- Assist newcomers in developing personalized settlement plans
- Provide case management and supportive counselling to youth and parents
- Facilitate appropriate referrals and access to services in the community
- Organize, plan, and implement group activities to address the needs of newcomer youth
- Plan service delivery in cooperation with the host schools, community organizations, and SWIS Managers
- Participate in regular program, team, community, and regional meetings
- Develop and implement community outreach plans to promote CCS programs and services
- Maintain and update all client information in a customized database
- Prepare and submit timely statistical and progress reports as required
**What are we looking for?**
- Social Service Work diploma or Social Work degree from a recognized institution or equivalent training in community work sectors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Tamil
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in the settlement and/or community work sectors
- Previous experience in SWIS is an asset
- Knowledge of community resources available in Scarborough as well as Toronto Catholic District School Board and Toronto District School Board systems
- Ability to work independently in an off-site, multi-location work environment with minimum supervision while ensuring regular communication with SWIS Program Managers and team
- Demonstrated interview, assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills and ability to build and maintain strong, ongoing partnerships with schools and community agencies
- Possession of a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a car is an asset
- This position requires travel within Toronto. Possession of a valid Ontario Driver’s License and use of a car is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, virtual meeting tools, and social media platforms to support youth and newcomer engagement.
**Location**:Toronto, ON
**Compensation**:$30.54 to $33.99 based on experience
**Hours of work**: 35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime as required
