**JOB TITLE**

- Hotel Controller

**JOB OVERVIEW**
- Manage, verify, and reconcile all incoming invoices and monies for Courtyard by Marriott (CYM) & TownePlace Suites by Marriott (TPS)

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**
- Accounts Payable:

- Assist & Maintain Purchase Orders record and ensure all PO's are approved before purchase
- Ensure all Invoices has PO, Packing Slip & Department Manager approval
- Input all approved invoice in the Great Plains AP upload excel sheet
- Municipal _Accommodation_ Tax (MAT) reconciliation (ensure long staying guests 30 Days are properly rebated MAT)
- HST reconciliation
- Reconcile franchise invoice
- Prepare ME AP accrual entry
- Maintain contract files for all vendors
- Maintain all licenses files required for the hotel
- Accounts Receivable:

- Print AR invoices & submit to the relevant companies
- Post payment to AR accounts upon receiving cheque & wire transfers
- Follow up with AR payments
- Marriott Bonvoy Rewards reconciliations
- Cashier:

- Verify all previous day’s cheques have been posted to the Cheque Log
- Clear Front Desk safe
- Prepare hotel daily bank deposit, input on PC cash file and ensure the deposit amounts ties to the General Ledger entry on the General Cashier Summary
- Cash reconciliation, prepare gratuities, due back & bank deposits
- Income journals reconciliations
- Follow up with charge backs
- Reconcile all ledgers
- Check in & check out all the banquet accounts with valid method of payment
- Follow up with Front Desk with respect to RVS, manager accounts
- Count Accounting float for accuracy
- Provide weekend float to Front Office Manager (regularly & long weekend (500)), and collect weekend float with accuracy
- Follow up with ledger and house accounts
- Collect laundry revenue, roll them for deposit
- Count all the cash floats includes front desk, managers, Bistro for month end purpose
- Prepare cheque requests for payment to corporate office
- Other Duties:

- Food inventory with Department Manager for month end /year end
- Ensure that the Market Place inventory and updates selling price for products
- Ensure hotel packages that Includes Gift Cards & Tickets are reconciled
- Any other duties as assigned by management

**Qualifications**
- Completion of college or higher program or degree
- Introductory level accounting to include AP and AR
- Excel, data entry experience is a must
- Previous experience is a plus
- Customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Physical abilities - ability to file and lift file boxes
- Must be a team player

**Health and safety**
- Follow safe work procedures as outlined in Departmental Policy and Procedures manuals, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Know and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ministry of Labour
- Report all injuries or illnesses to a supervisor or manager immediately.
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee by bringing health and safety concerns or issues to the attention of the committee.
