**Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association** is a non-profit charitable community services agency established since 1976. Our spectrum of services has grown from the delivery of Chinese meals-on-wheels service to a full range of community support services, covering the whole Greater Toronto Area. With a staff of 500 members (including full-time and part-time staff) and the help of a pool of 850 active volunteers, we serve over 15,000 clients a year, including seniors, adults, youth with physical, social, emotional and health challenges. 3,000 of whom are "home-bound" and frail. **Position Title**:Event Coordinator **Location**:300 Silver Star Blvd. Scarborough, Ontario **Terms**: Full Time (35 hours per week); 8 to 16 weeks employment starting in May / June / July 2025 **Wage**: $17.20 / hour **Department**:Fundraising **Responsibilities**: - Assist in planning and execution of Charity Golf Tournament and Summer Walkathon program, including tasks such as updating the walkathon website, walkers' online and in-person manual registration, follow up on issuing of tax receipts, etc. - Support other Carefirst fundraising activities as required - Prepare weekly social media postings - Perform other duties as assigned **Requirements**: - Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment in order to meet Canada Summer Jobs funding requirement - Graduated from or currently registered student in a post-secondary program - Canadian citizen or permanent resident (foreign students are not eligible) - Prior work / volunteer experience in the social services field is preferred - Ability to work in a team environment - Customer service-oriented and attention to detail - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) - Fluent in English, and a second language that reflects the community served such as Cantonese or Mandarin, is an asset **Application Deadline : 2025-02-28** - **NOTE**:_Cannot be used to fulfill co-op program requirements - Carefirst is an equal opportunity employer.
