**Wage**: $18.50 per hour

**Purpose**:
The Finance Clerk has the primary responsibility of providing support to the finance department.

**Key areas of responsibility**:

- Follow accounting processes currently in place and work with the Finance Team to continually improve upon these processes.
- Assist with the data entry of invoices, distributing and mailing cheques/statements.
- Assist with filing and maintaining accounting records.
- Assist with the bank deposits to the bank.
- Assist with following-up on collection of amounts owing from clients.
- Assist with correcting client bills in PS Suite.
- Backup in other areas of the finance department as needed.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and other duties as required by the Finance Team.

**Educational and/or Professional Qualifications**:

- Current student or recent graduate in Accounting/Finance diploma/degree

**Level of Experience**:

- Office or administrative experience considered an asset.

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- Demonstrates intermediate skills in Excel;
- Computer literacy with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, clerical and problem solving skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently;
- Exceptional multi-tasking, attention to detail, time-management and organizational skills;
- Sensitivity towards and awareness of cultural, racial, economic, and socially diverse communities.

**As this role is being funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program, the following are eligibility requirements**:

- You are between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible)
- You are legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
- You have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
