The Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador is looking for a full time **Chief **Executive Officer** to lead their professional and passionate team.

The Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador (CSC NL) is a registered charity dedicated to promoting social and economic well-being. It is committed to advancing and strengthening the central role of the nonprofit, community sector in social and economic progress. CSC NL fosters volunteerism, encourages citizen engagement, undertakes innovative programs, conducts research and offers leadership in shaping policy.

The CEO will shape the strategy and approach to fulfilling the CSC’s purpose of fostering a prosperous and inclusive society supporting individuals, families, and communities.

**What you will be doing**:
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be responsible for:

- Shaping the strategy and vision to best deliver against the organizations purpose into the future.
- Engaging and energizing CSC NL’s employees, colleagues, funders and the public to deliver against the organization’s mandate.
- Overseeing the finances and operations to ensure program evolution and excellence and maintaining sustainability. Identifying and securing new sources of operational funding
- Working with the Board of Directors and committees to ensure robust governance and risk management of the organization’s undertakings.
- Ensuring high performance from our employees through recruiting, leading, and coaching employees.
- Overseeing core programs and projects and ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget.
- Maintaining strong relationships with all levels of governments, the community, partners, and public sectors.
- Deepening and refining the organization’s brand by improving our public presence through marketing, public relations, public speaking and attending events.
- Advocating on behalf of the sector, and/or specific population to bring attention to community issues and to support resolutions

**What you will bring**:

- 7-10 years of leadership at a senior level.
- An advanced degree in policy, business development, and/or business planning.
- Previous experience as an Executive Director in the nonprofit sector would be an asset.
- Experience in policy, advocacy, communications and research skills.
- Experience and comfort in public speaking and/or public relations.
- Experience in managing budgets
- A proven track record securing funding from multiple sources.
- The ability to coach, motivate and manage staff.
- Knowledge of good board governance practices and risk management.
