**Summary**

TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair and maintenance service provider for Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aero-derivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base.

We are currently looking for an HSE Advisor to join our growing team. This position will be
located at the Airdrie Depot.

Reporting to the Manager, QHSE, the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor will be
responsible for HS&E activities and functions throughout all aspects of TransCanada Turbines.

**Duties**

The duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

- Coordinate and implement HS&E related programs and ensure employees are aware and subscribe to the policies and procedures contained therein.
- Amend working practices to continually improve HSE performance.
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, occupational diseases, etc.
- Manage the environmental aspects of the HSE Management System including the safe disposal of hazardous substances.
- Provide direction and support to all TCT personnel regarding HSE related topics.
- Conduct site inspections to verify policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
- Ensure HS&E programs continually meet all regulatory requirements.
- Support Managers and Supervisors in developing Hazard Assessments and Safe Work Practices for work conducted in their areas.
- Support HSE Coordinator and dedicated trainers to develop and maintain HSE training.
- Champion Management of Change process.
- Work with HSE Team and Supervisors to investigate incidents / near misses and implement correct actions.
- Support the HSE Team in development of staff communications and presentations.
- Ensure TCT complies with 3rd party safety program verification company’s requirements (ISN, Achilles, etc.).
- Support Field Services Technicians to comply with customer site requirements.
- Conduct audits of the ISO Management Systems, and assist in correcting deficiencies.
- Support the HSE Team to prepare WCB claims and return to work program.
- Ensure that TCT complies with current health and safety legislation by being aware of any changes as they occur.
- Work with Maintenance Team to maintain asset integrity including lift fixture inspection program.
- Provide support for new employee HS&E orientations.
- Increase knowledge of the QHSE Policy and Manuals and maintain a positive attitude towards the health and safety of myself and my coworkers.
- Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for HSE.
- Other duties as directed by the Manager, QHSE.

**Requirements**:

- 3 years previous HSE advisor experience
- A combination of experience and safety education will be considered
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Successful completion of a post-offer medical and drug & alcohol test
