SAP Basis Administrator

Position Responsibilities:
This SAP Basis position requires someone who can continuously enhance the bridge between our IT Shared Services and our IT Development groups.- Work with other IT teams, vendors and SAP support in investigating and resolving defects, incidents or problems related to SAP systems.- SAP operational system monitoring review daily on daily basis to identify potential issues and take corrective actions in accordance to 407 practices.- Assess and identify Performance tunings where applicable to optimize performance bottlenecks and resource utilizations.- Co-ordinate with internal IT Security, Operational Support and Basis managed service provider to schedule upgrades, patches, and security updates.- Co-ordinate with IT DevOps and Delivery teams to automate SAP transport and deployment process in line with 407 CICD practices.- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation on all SAP systems, including architecture and design, installation and configuration procedures, system configurations, and maintenance calendars.- Provide training, guidance, and support to users of SAP systems to ensure fellow colleagues have the necessary skills and knowledge to support and use the system effectively.- Provide feedback for continuous improvement of 407ETR’s delivery methodology, best practices, particularly in the context of configuration and support management- After hours on-call support will be required.

Qualifications:
- SAP BASIS Certified- 5 years previous BASIS experience- SAP Project experience- Strong knowledge of SAP HANA and/or HANA 2.0 Certified- Strong knowledge in SAP ABAP and J2EE Application Servers and Operations- Some knowledge of SAP Convergent Charging (CC)- Working knowledge of SAP architecture design including High-Availability and Disaster Recovery- Experience in working within the SAP support framework to open and escalate SAP incidents.- Strong understanding of systems design as it pertains to Unix, networks, storage, general computing, and cloud infrastructure.- Experience in a Software Development / Support role in a multi-platform environment (preferably in an Agile/Scrum environment)- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written to be able communicate with non-technical colleagues effectively.- Scripting (Unix, Perl scripting )- Experience in Enterprise Continuous Integration and Continuous Development practices- Strong problem solving and trouble-shooting skills- A College or university degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science preferred

Summary

407 ETR's Information Technology division is responsible for the infrastructure and software to enable the efficient operation of the highway-including toll capture, account management, financials, and data storage/analytics-as well as customer services including call-center, web, IVR and supporting workflows.

Delivery is accomplished using an Agile-Scrum approach, including self-organization, short iterations, strong collaboration, and dedicated teams in scrum rooms.

At 407 ETR, all developers meet weekly to briefly hear updates from management, then break off into multiple learning streams. Topics include Cloud, Best Practices in Java, Data Streaming, SalesForce and Data Science. Some weeks, the streams are very hands-on (i.e. getting AWS.CLI up and running, playing with Kubernetes, learning Python). The developer led topics range from a learning above a wide variety of topics (i.e. Cloud, Best Practices in Java, Data Streaming, SalesForce, Data Science...).
