One of four Tier 1 provincial parks on Vancouver Island, Gordon Bay is a popular local gem where everyone is welcome to camp, swim, hike trails, launch boats and enjoy our beautiful view of Cowichan Lake and the surrounding forest. Contracted through K2 Cowichan Parks Services for BC Parks, Gordon Bay Provincial Park is a family-friendly campground with an abundance of amenities situated in picturesque Honeymoon Bay. A spacious, welcoming campground where countless great memories are created and shared amongst visitors, campers and staff alike.
- **A quick description of the position**:_
- chopping, stacking and delivery of firewood (until/unless a fire ban is enacted)
- cleaning of park facilities (pit toilets and shower buildings)
- collection/disposal of garbage and recycling
- sorting of recycling
- enforcement of BC Parks policies
- walking and driving the park grounds as security
- **Mandatory Qualifications**:_
- availability on weekends and stat holidays
- must be responsible and reliable
- must provide a clean criminal record check
- must provide a satisfactory drivers abstract
- must hold a valid drivers license (minimum of a class 7 N license required)
- must be comfortable driving side by sides and trucks
- high school or higher education
- **Skills and abilities**:_
- Customer service proficiency
- Ability to problem solve
- Communication skills
- Organized and punctual
- Comfortable working alone and as a team
- Comfortable/confident with the use of hand and power tools
- Physically capable of some manual labour which can include but is not limited to:

- stacking, chopping, loading and delivery of firewood
- use of backpack blowers and related equipment such as weed whackers, mowers etc.
- shovelling gravel to fill potholes
- painting
- collection and disposal of garbage and recycling bags
- walking the campground as security
- ability to lift/carry 45lbs (moving boxes of paper products, use of maintenance equipment etc)
