Operations Manager

Our Systemair facility located in Tillsonburg Ontario is the manufacturing center of commercial air handling units (AHU) for North America. **Position Summary**:
Reporting to the General Manager, the newly created position Operations Manager is an important partner in our management team. This position is accountable for all operational objectives towards manufacturing a cost-effective product consistent with quality standards.

This position is directly involved in the business and helps maintain our positive culture.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote positive inclusive and diverse culture with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Together with the General Manager and operational team, create and implement strategic planning for creating specific targets that meet the company’s overall objectives
- Lead local controlled operational growth and increased capacity projects
- Outstanding communication to operational team members and other internal/external contacts regarding problems/solutions/activity/enhancements
- Consult/advise on scheduling, labour planning and communicate/report activity
- Report on activities and update impacts to sales and costs as it pertains to the budget
- Work directly with all functional management/teams to enhance operations with goals of cost reductions, increased throughput, and meeting customer expectations including on-time delivery and lead time reductions drive for total customer satisfaction
- Ensure company is acting in accordance with local guidelines and law
- Lead/coordinate continuous improvement projects, proactive problem solving, and root cause analysis investigations
- Direct reports include Manufacturing/Scheduling Manager, Production Managers and Logistic Manager
- Hands-On Management approach - active on factory floor
- Other tasks as required

**Education/Experience**:

- 5 years in a Manufacturing Operations Management role with greater than 100 personnel
- Extensive detailed knowledge of ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and continuous improvement projects
- Understanding of business dynamics and various departmental business functions
- Knowledge of manufacturing complex custom electrically certified products with multiple parts an asset
- Lean Manufacturing and ISO environment an asset
- Engineering or Bachelor’s degree an asset

**Skills**:

- Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP database and systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills
- Ability to handle situations professionally with sensitivity, diplomacy and tact
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives
