**Job description - Café Assistant Manager**

**Our Company**:
Murchie's Tea & Coffee was founded in British Columbia in 1894. Since then Murchie's has been blending tea and roasting coffee to exacting standards and distributing it through our eight retail stores, grocery stores and food services. Our head office/manufacturing facility is located in Delta and we operate a commercial kitchen and café in our Government Street location in Victoria.

An opportunity at Murchie’s Government Street Cafe in Victoria, BC is available for a Café Assistant Manager

**The Position**:
The Café Assistant Manager will support the Café Manager with a hands-on approach to lead team members in providing exceptional service in a clean, organized and well presented food service café.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead by example, provide excellent customer service by creating an atmosphere where customers are approached, welcomed and served promptly
- Ensures all food products are handled correctly as per food safe regulations
- Opens and closes café following procedures
- Assists in training new and existing employees
- Encourages a positive and healthy working environment
- Ensures supply levels are adequate for daily use
- Manages and maintains café food cases by keeping displays clean and organized
- Maintain total café cleanliness
- Assists with daily operations
- Follows dress code

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Promptly determines customer’s needs, provides an excellent example for others to follow.

Must have leadership experience
- Operates as manager would when required
- Monitors cash and till operations
- Ability to write supply orders, maintaining correct inventory levels
- Attain and share menu product knowledge
- Have flexibility in schedule, able to work a variety of shifts including weekends

$5-$10 per hour average tip amount
- Must have a valid food safe certificate

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
