**Job description - Café Associate**

**Our Company**:
Murchie's Tea & Coffee was founded in British Columbia in 1894. Since then Murchie's has been blending tea and roasting coffee to exacting standards and distributing it through our eight retail stores, grocery stores and food services. Our head office/manufacturing facility is located in Delta and we operate a commercial kitchen and café in our Government Street location in Victoria.

An opportunity at Murchie’s Government Street Cafe in Victoria, BC is available for a Café Barista/Associate.

**The Position**:
The Café Associate will contribute to the team by providing exceptional service in a clean, organized and well presented food service café.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide excellent customer service by approaching, welcoming and serving customers promptly
- Ensures all food products are handled correctly as per food safe regulations
- Contribute to the daily operations
- Follow Cafe procedures
- Contribute to a positive and healthy working environment
- Assist in maintaining café food display cases
- Produce barista tea & coffee style drinks using an espresso machine
- Maintain a high level of enthusiasm, have fun
- Contribute to café cleanliness following food safe regulations
- Follow dress code

Must be available for weekends

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Promptly determine customer’s needs
- Process customer orders with accuracy, filling orders and processing payment correctly
- Attain and share menu product knowledge
- Have flexibility in schedule, able to work a variety of shifts
- Must have a valid food safe certificate
- Previous cafe experience an asset

Must be available for weekends

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.65 per hour
